Credit Card details will secure your reservation however we will not charge your card until the day of departure.Free cancellation up to 5 days notice, a cancellation fee of £50 per room per night will be applicable thereafter. If bookings are cancelled within 24hours of due arrival or a no show occurs we reserve the right to charge the first night’s stay in full and £50 per night for the reminder of the booking. We only offer a minimum stay of 2 nights for weekends, and Bank holiday weekends 3 nights minimum. We reserve the right to take a non refundable deposit for stays of 3 nights or more and for multiple room bookings. We recommend Holiday Insurance to cover cancellation costs for unforeseen circumstances and would respectfully remind guests that reservation at Hotel No 5 constitutes a contract.
We are a residents only hotel for your safety we only allow guests within the hotel and ask that you do not give your keys to anyone other than the named people on the booking reservation. Lost hotel keys will incur a charge of £150 per room.
We ask that Front entrance doors are locked at all times for your safety. We value your safety and we have CCTV throughout the public areas of the hotel, and car park. Parking - we have the luxury of a private car park which we offer free to our guests, this is covered by CCTV however guests park at their own risk and the hotel is not liable for any damage. We do not allow Takeaway Food in guest bedrooms at any time, we will apply a charge of £50 minimum to any damage caused from Takeaway foods in the rooms to furnishings. We open our Dining room for guests to use facilities every evening until 9.30pm. We have a strict NO Smoking Policy throughout the hotel, we reserve the right to impose a cleaning charge of £50 per room to remove tobacco smells. We kindly ask guests not to smile in the front porch or doorway, Smoking is Permitted on our front patio area and in the carpark. Please dispose of cigarettes responsibly in the ash trays provided.
Ironing - an iron board and iron is available upon request. Please be kind to our team and respectful of other guests, we will not tolerate abuse of any kind. If guests are ask to leave due to causing distress we will charge the full stay including the remainder of the stay. We politely ask all guests to be mindful of noise levels to ensure the comfort of all our guests.
We welcome children over the age of 8 years old and may ask for proof of age at check in, all children are classed as a single staying person and therefore must be able to sleep in a bed. We do not offer extra beds or cots in our rooms.
Hotel No5 is not a dog friendly Hotel. We realise that our guests want to bring their best friends on holiday however we cannot accept any dogs to stay with guests in the hotel.
The hotel carpark is at the rear of the building directions are (input link/map for directions from promenade) From the promenade please continue straight the turn right after the county Hotel situation a corner, then turn a sharp left down Victoria Street approximately 15 yards turn left in to Hotel No5 Private car park 7 spaces marked to the right hand side. Access to the Hotel is via front entrance only (input directions from car park to front walking) which is a two minute walk round from the car park. Please call the hotel if you wish to drop off luggage before parking and we will happily hold in our luggage hold room. Parking on the front promenade outside the hotel is completely free of charge with no restrictions. The Hotel main entrance is via a pathway leading to 6 smalll steps to the front entrance which takes you to the hallway and reception area.
Unfortunately we do not have a lift.
We do not have ground floor bedrooms, all bedrooms are 1st and 2nd floor location please refer to booking for steps to each room.
We do not have wheelchair access.The Hotel reserves the right to alter prices for any reason up to the date of booking or up to 12 weeks prior to arrival, whichever is the later. After such dates, prices may only be altered to reflect a change in the rate of VAT or local service charge and taxes or for any other reason outside of the control of the Hotel, in which case the changes will be notified to the Client. In the latter event, the Client may cancel the booking without cost.

Cancellations and amendments to DIRECT bookings can be made by contacting the hotel directly. Any deposit paid is non-refundable and the agreed rate of the first night’s stay will be charged. Normal terms of payment apply to these charges. For this purpose the Hotel reserves the right to set-off the amount payable for such cancellation against the Client’s credit card without prior notice or approval of the Client, where applicable. No refund given for curtailment of a stay.If the Hotel cancels before 48 hours prior to the scheduled day of arrival, the Hotel’s liability to the Client will be no greater than the amount paid by the client in respect of any booking. If the Hotel cancels within 48 hours of the time of arrival, the Hotel’s liability will be limited to ZERO charge. Where possible the Hotel may but is not obliged nor will it be liable to find alternative accommodation for the Client in the event that the Hotel is unable to accommodate the Client.
Settlement of the bill in full, less any advance payments must be made prior to departure from the Hotel. Upon arrival the Hotel reserves the right to request preauthorisation of the Client’s credit or debit card or where payment is to be by cash, we request the Client pay on arrival. All major credit and debit cards are accepted. Personal cheques are not accepted. Company cheques are not accepted. All sums are due for payment on presentation of the invoice.
Management reserves the right to cancel if;
a) At the time of check-in if the proposed number of guests exceeds the room allocation
or
b) After check-in the number of guests in the room is changed to exceed the room allocation
The Hotel reserves the right to judge acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of Clients, guests or representatives, who must take all steps for corrective action as requested by the Hotel. In the event of failure to comply with management requests, the Hotel may terminate the booking or stop any event immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation.
Other than for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Hotel, the Hotel’s liability to the Client is limited to the price of the booking.
Unless the Hotel is liable under the above clause, the Client indemnifies the Hotel from and against any and all liability and any claims, proceedings or damages resulting or arising from the booking, event or function, the Client, guests or any outside contractors of the Client. The Hotel will not be liable for failure to perform to the extent that the failure is caused by any factor beyond its reasonable control. The Hotel does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for damage to, or theft from, or theft of, vehicles parked on the hotel premises. The hotel advises all guests and visitors to remove all valuables from unattended vehicles in the car park. Clients are responsible for any damage caused to the allocated rooms, furnishings, utensils and equipment in them by any act, omission, default or neglect of the Clients, their guests or sub-contractors and will pay to the Hotel on demand the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage.
We believe that you should book a holiday in the UK in the same way that you would book a holiday anywhere else in the world. If you have an emergency and need to cancel your trip, travel insurance may help reduce any losses.
Any conerns and complaints to be raised to the hotel manager. Any disputes are to be raised with terms which will be construed in accordance with English law and the Hotel and Client submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Consuming a significantly large quantity of alcohol is not permitted at the hotel. We want guests to enjoy alcohol and behave responsibly for the sake of other guests at the hotel. The misuse of drugs is sctrictly prohibited at the hotel. If drugs are found you will be asked to leave immediately and the police informed. These are part of our licence conditions.
Afternoon Tea is subject to T&C's. Ideally, pre-booking of Afternoon Tea is welcomed. If booked on the day, it must be booked before 10:00am. A deposit is required for all bookings. The booking is made on a first come first served basis. Afternoon Tea is served between 14:00-16:30. Please refer to Afternoon Tea page for full items available. Items can be swapped/replaced without informing guests due to the availability of ingredients. PLEASE notify the hotel about any allergies.
